When water comes to a boil, this teakettle's Hohner harmonica whistle sounds off with all the resonance of a train whistle. The kettle's flat base promotes fast heating while the wire-loop handle provides a secure grip. Designed by Chantal Founder, Heida Thurlow, nearly 40 years ago and has become an icon of teakettle design and function. Ms. Thurlow has the distinction of being the first woman in the U.S. to launch and run a cookware company and continues to do so today.

Use

• Ideal for gas and electric cooktops, not induction compatible.
• Do not fill kettle above inner spout opening.
• Do not heat empty or allow to boil dry.
• To prevent mineral build-up, empty contents after each use.
• Use filtered water to prevent mineral deposits.
• Securely close lid and whistle flap before boiling.

Care

• Hand-wash.
• Avoid using steel wool, steel scouring pads or harsh detergents.
• To remove mineral deposits or rust stains from interior, combine two Tbs. baking soda and lemon juice with water, boil for 30 minutes and rinse thoroughly.

Return Policy

At Williams Sonoma, we take great pride in the quality and craftsmanship of our products. Attention to design, materials, safety and construction are our priority. Upon receipt, please inspect your purchase and notify us of any damage; we will arrange for a prompt replacement.

Within 30 days, you may return most items for a refund of the merchandise value. An original receipt or gift receipt is required for all returns and exchanges. Returns with a gift receipt will be refunded in the form of a Merchandise Credit for the amount indicated on the gift receipt. Returns with original receipt will be refunded in the original form of payment, cash and check refunds over $100 will be issued as a company check (may take 14 business days from time of request). Please note that returned items must be in new condition.

Chantal® Stainless Steel Teakettle Limited Warranty

Chantal warrants that the teakettle’s whistle, lid, and handle will stay free of defects in material or manufacture that will render them unserviceable for a period of one year from the date of purchase by the first user. You must present your receipt to prove date of purchase.

This warranty does NOT cover (1) ordinary wear and tear (such as scratches, dents or stains to the stainless steel or enamel-on-steel, external or internal surfaces that do not impair the functional utility of the product), (2) non-functionality of the whistle which can be corrected with minor adjustments or cleaning, (3) impact damage or breakage, (4) heat discoloration, boiled dry teakettle, or resulting damage to the teakettle and/or other property, or (5) other misuse. Failure to follow the accompanying Use and Care instructions or use of the teakettle in commercial applications will void this warranty.

ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING THE WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY, THAT APPLY TO ANY PARTS OF THE TEAKETTLE ARE LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE PERIODS OF THE EXPRESS WARRANTIES GIVEN ABOVE FOR THOSE SAME PARTS. CHANTAL DISCLAIMS THOSE WARRANTIES THEREAFTER. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you.

Your remedy for breach of this warranty is replacement of the teakettle. You will be responsible for a shipping and handling fee. This is the exclusive and sole remedy for any breach of warranty.

IN NO EVENT SHALL CHANTAL BE LIABLE FOR ANY INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING DAMAGE TO OTHER PROPERTY. Some States do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation may not apply to you.

This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other rights which vary from State to State. Chantal Corp. reserves the right to make changes and improvements in design without making changes to previously manufactured items.
