- Store unopened at room temperature for up to 18 months.
Preparation Instructions
- Cake mix (included)
- 2 eggs plus 2 egg whites, room temperature
- 3/4 cup milk, room temperature
- 14 Tbs. unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
Place rack in center of oven and preheat to 350°F.
Grease cake pan(s) with baking spray or line cupcake pan with liners.
Whisk together eggs, egg whites, milk and butter in large bowl until smooth. Add cake mix and whisk until smooth.
Transfer batter to prepared pan(s) and bake according to chart below. Cake is done when toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
Let cake cool in pan for 15 minutes, then turn out onto wire rack to cool completely. Decorate as desired.
Cooking Time
- 8" diam.: 30–33 minutes.
- 9" diam.: 27–30 minutes.
- 9" x 13": 30–32 minutes.
- Cupcakes: 20–22 minutes.
Test Kitchen Tips
- Make sure all ingredients are at room temperature to ensure smooth batter and tender consistency.
- Begin checking cake at start of cooking time range listed to make sure it does not overbake.
- Cake layers can be made 2 days before serving. Once cooled completely, cover cake layers tightly in plastic wrap and store at room temperature.
- Granulated sugar, all-purpose flour (bleached or unbleached wheat flour, malted barley flour, niacin, reduced iron, thiamine mononitrate, riboflavin, folic acid), cornstarch, rainbow sprinkles (sugar, cornstarch, hydrogenated palm kernel oil, soy lecithin, gum arabic, confectioners' glaze, FD&C colors [Yellow #6 Lake, Yellow #5, Yellow #5 Lake, Blue #1 Lake, Red #40 Lake, Red #3]), cultured buttermilk (sweet cream churned buttermilk, sweet dairy whey, lactic acid), cane sugar, dextrose, fructose, natural flavor, caramel color, baking soda, baking powder (sodium acid pyrophosphate, sodium bicarbonate, cornstarch, monocalcium phosphate), natural vanilla flavor, salt.

Return Policy
At Williams Sonoma, we take great pride in the quality and craftsmanship of our products. Attention to design, materials, safety and construction are our priority. Upon receipt, please inspect your purchase and notify us of any damage; we will arrange for a prompt replacement.
Within 30 days, you may return most items for a refund of the merchandise value. An original receipt or gift receipt is required for all returns and exchanges. Returns with a gift receipt will be refunded in the form of a Merchandise Credit for the amount indicated on the gift receipt. Returns with original receipt will be refunded in the original form of payment, cash and check refunds over $100 will be issued as a company check (may take 14 business days from time of request). Please note that returned items must be in new condition.

We cannot accept returns on monogrammed, personalized, special-order items, custom upholstery, food or on items damaged through normal wear and tear. Final sale items ending in .97, .98 or .99 cannot be returned. We also cannot accept returns of any food products, which are considered final sale items.
Made to Order and Final Sale Furniture items are non-returnable and cannot be cancelled once the order is placed.
